Capacity building for civil servants of the local public administration

The State Chancellery actively participated in the Job Fair
About 400 vacant positions in the central public administration authorities were presented by the State Chancellery within the last edition of the Job Fair held on May 30 in Chisinau. At the same time, the representatives of the State Chancellery explained to visitors about the way of employment in civil service. |

The Republic of Moldova won UN Public Service Award
At the beginning of May, after two rounds of competition, the Republic of Moldova was designated for the first time among five winners of the 2013 UN Public Service Awards. The Award represents the most prestigious international recognition for contribution in the development of public service and it was awarded for the set of initiatives on increasing decisional transparency and fostering participation of civil society in this process, launched and implemented by the State Chancellery’s team in the period of 2009-2012. |

The State Chancellery presented about 400 jobs within the Job Fair
Today the State Chancellery presented, within the Youth Job Fair, the information about 400 vacant positions, existing at present in 52 public administration authorities, as well as about the procedure of holding civil service positions. The Job Fair was organized by the National Employment Agency in partnership with the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family, the Ministry of Youth and Sport and the Ministry of Education. |

Over 30 journalists and bloggers learned more about external assistance
Over 30 journalists and bloggers took part, last weekend, in a two-days seminar entitled “External Assistance: Utilization and management of resources”. The basic questions related to external assistance, amount of resources received, major donors of the country, priority areas receiving support from them, were answered during the seminar. The event was moderated by Mr. Victor Bodiu, Secretary General of the Government, who opened the seminar with a presentation on the system of external assistance coordination in Moldova. |

The National Development Strategy „Moldova 2020” was passed in the first reading
On May 18, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova passed the draft Law on approval of the National Development Strategy (NDS) „Moldova 2020”, in the first reading. The Strategy is focused on seven priorities: Studies - relevant for a career; Roads in good conditions, anywhere; Affordable and cheap finance; Business with clear rules of the game; Equitable and sustainable pension system; Delivered safely energy; Responsible and incorruptible justice. „Moldova 2020” is the first long-term strategic planning document for our country. |

Job Fair comes with over 400 vacancies in civil service for youth
May 26 marked the opening of the Job Fair organized by the National Employment Agency in concert with other authorities. The opening ceremony was attended by the deputy prime minister Mihai Moldovanu. The Job Fair brought together businesses and representatives of state owned enterprises and NGOs. |

From May 24 to May 27, 20 civil servants from the central public authorities experienced in training/outreach arrangements and wishing to acquire/develop trainer skills are attending a Training of Trainers (module I) held within the Academy of Public Administration attached to the President of the Republic of Moldova. |

The international development partners of Moldova give it credit for a well-done job with the public administration reform
On May 19, 2011 the head of the Policy, Strategic Planning and Foreign Assistance Division and the head of the Personnel Policy Division met the representatives of the development partners to talk about the progress of the central public administration reform in the Republic of Moldova.The meeting started with a review of the progress achieved and the areas that require improvement. The international development partners, among which the World Bank, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) applauded the outcomes. |

State Chancellery management met World Bank mission to discuss central public administration reform
On Thursday, May 19, Mr Roman Cazan, deputy secretary general of the Government, together with the head of the Policy, Strategic Planning and Foreign Aid Division and the head of the Personnel Policy Division met the World Bank representatives to discuss the progress of the central public administration reform in the Republic of Moldova and the areas that require improvement.The participants also exchanged views on the future actions to be taken, the stakeholders in the implementation of the Public Administration Reform Strategy, as well as their responsibilities. |

Moldovan civil service will be subjected to SIGMA review
On May 4-5, 2011 the experts of SIGMA - a joint initiative of the OECD and the EU - paid a visit to the Republic of Moldova, as part of the cooperation with the Personnel Policy Division (PPD) within the State Chancellery. The purpose of the visit was to find the best way to review how the civil service regulatory framework is being enforced. |
